Consider: Lost River for Best Original Song

Saoirse Ronan appears (and sings) in Lost River.

Ryan Gosling's directorial debut is a mixed bag of various styles and minimal substance, but it features some excellent work from his collaborators, including the colorful lensing by Benoît Debie and a fantastic score from Chromatics' Johnny Jewel. The credits roll with a beautiful song performed by Saoirse Ronan, who plays a small role in the film. The track, titled "Tell Me", will be overlooked next awards season, so I wanted to spotlight it here. Take a listen below. (Note: You can also download it for free on Johnny Jewel's Soundcloud account.)

  2. This was a nice song, but Gosling let everyone down in this film. He could've had something great there.

  3. I listened to the soundtrack, and I agree Tell Me is a highlight. YES (Love Theme From Lost River) is another stand out for me.

    1. Oh, YES (Love Theme From Lost River) is great, too. Love that Johnny Jewel offers so many free downloads, like both of these tracks, on his Soundcloud page.

    1. Hi Ruth! Saoirse has a supporting role, and the film can be quite strange at times. Not sure if you'd like it.

Yeah, I got your comment. Sorry, I haven't been on the blog in the past few days, since I didn't have anything to post. ;)
